AI Design Systems
An interface language for probabilistic products.
Conventional design systems assume the interface is certain. AI products are not. We build the components and rules for showing confidence, citing sources, streaming partial answers and correcting a wrong one without breaking the user’s trust.
What is an AI design system?
A design system is the shared set of components and rules your team uses to build screens. An AI design system adds the patterns that only AI products need: showing that the AI is working, citing sources, showing confidence, and letting people fix a wrong answer easily.
Without these patterns, every screen solves the same problems differently, and users stop trusting the product the first time it gets something wrong.
When an AI answer is unsure, the interface says so, shows where the answer came from, and offers a one-click way to correct it, the same way on every screen.
How it helps your business.
Users trust the AI
Clear sources, confidence and corrections make people comfortable relying on it.
Ship screens faster
Ready-made components mean designers and developers stop reinventing the same patterns.
One consistent product
Every AI feature looks and behaves the same way across the app.
Fewer support tickets
Users understand what the AI did, so fewer people get confused or stuck.
Real ways teams use it.
Not sure if AI Design Systems fits your business? A 15-minute call will tell you.
You are probably here because one of these is true.
Deliverables, not a summary of our thinking.
Component library
Streaming text, confidence indicators, citations, retry and correction patterns, built, not just drawn.
Behaviour rules
When to hedge, when to refuse, when to show sources, when to stay quiet.
Token set
Type, colour, motion and spacing, defined as code your engineers can consume.
Failure vocabulary
A consistent way to say "I do not know", "that timed out" and "I got that wrong".
Documentation
Usage guidance, worked examples, and the reasoning behind each decision.
The shape of the engagement.
A design system for an AI product is mostly about honesty: making it obvious to the user how much to trust what they are reading.
Questions about AI Design Systems.
Why do AI products need special design?+
AI can be slow, uncertain and sometimes wrong. Good design shows progress, explains answers and makes corrections easy, which normal design systems do not cover.
What do we receive?+
Documented components and patterns in Figma and code, ready for your team to build with.
Can you work with our existing design system?+
Yes. We usually extend what you already have rather than replace it.
Do you also build the product?+
Yes, if you want. We can hand over the system or build the product with it, see AI Product Development.
How long does it take?+
Most AI design systems take four to eight weeks depending on how many features are covered.
